Health problems associated with compact fluorescent lights

While there are a couple of exceptions, newspaper and internet articles published during the last 7 months generally suggest that compact fluorescent lamps (CFL’s), which are being promoted as energy-efficient replacements for incandescent globes, may aggravate health problems including migraine, eczema, seizures and lupus in light-sensitive people. Some countries, including Australia, plan to replace incandescent globes with CFL’s as one measure in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Indoor plants or window views improve office worker's quality of life

According to research published in the journal “Hortscience”, employees who worked in office environments providing either live indoor plants or window views of green spaces reported a better overall quality of life and job satisfaction than those whose office environments were without both plants and window views.

Night-time noise exposure increases blood pressure
A study published in the European Heart Journal has found that exposure to loud noise during sleep was associated with increased blood pressure.  This effect was independent of the noise source.
