Geomancy (Geopathic Stress Assessment)

GeomancyDisturbance of the earth’s natural magnetic field by either natural or man-made phenomena may result in negative earth energies. Geomancy is concerned with the identification and remediation of both negative earth energies and negative energies left behind by the previous inhabitants of a space. These negative energies are referred to by the term “geopathic stress”.

Long term exposure to geopathic stress may ultimately result in illness. Short-term exposure usually results in only transitory effects.

Conditions and situations which may indicate the presence of geopathic stress include:

  • cancer, M.E., multiple sclerosis
  • disturbed sleep, strange dreams or nightmares
  • waking feeling unrefreshed or feeling worst in the mornings
  • allergies
  • tiredness, exhaustion, depression, headaches
  • repeated miscarriages and fertility problems
  • failure to thrive, inattention, hyperactivity and learning difficulties in children
  • illnesses which do not clear up, despite good treatment
  • a room or area in a building that feels uncomfortable, inexplicably cold or “not quite right”

Geopathic stress cannot be either seen or explained scientifically. Hence, geomancy is an energetic discipline and is more esoteric than other types of testing performed by Building Wellness.

The consultant uses a dowsing rod to interact with the energy of the site.

Identified issues can be remedied immediately. Alternatively, the effects of geopathic stress can be overcome by moving away from it. This may simply mean moving beds or chairs where people spend a significant amount of time so that they are no longer located over stressed areas. It may also mean reassessing the uses of various rooms in a building to ensure that they are best used in line with the underlying geopathic energies.

Should you wish to give the gift of a geomantic assessment to a friend or family member, Building Wellness Gift Certificates are available for purchase from our on-line shop

Hint of the Week
  • Reduce indoor odours

To reduce odours indoors, promptly clean up spills and remove spoiled items. Place a small bowl of baking soda in the fridge and in areas where odours accumulate, taking care to place the containers in positions where young children cannot access them. Fresh flowers, herb sachets and essential oils may be used to keep living areas smelling fresh.
