Electromagnetic fields
Listen to experts talking about the health effects of EMF exposure

Are you interested in hearing experts, including Magda Havas, Thomas Rau and Olle Johansson, talking about the health effects of EMF exposure?

Audio interviews with these people are available free of charge at the website http://www.electromagnetichealth.org.

You can also hear other interviews with other researchers, including Dr Henry Lai who speaks about the DNA and Cancer Connection.

Role of EMF’s in childhood leukaemia

The Bioinitiative Report states that "there is little doubt that exposure to ELF (from electrical and electronic appliances and power lines) causes childhood leukaemia". However, the biological mechanism by which magnetic fields may have this effect is yet to be determined. Chinese researchers have now found that children who have a modified gene are unable to fully repair damaged DNA. They are 4 times more likely to develop leukaemia if they live within 100m power lines than are children who live in the same area but have a fully functioning version of this gene.

Power line EMF’s and Alzheimer’s Disease

Researchers at the University of Bern have found that people living within 50 metres of a high voltage (220 – 380kV) power line had a higher than normal risk of dying from Alzheimer’s Disease. As the risk increased over time, after 15 years of living near these lines, the risk was double the expected rate.

Transient EMF's and diabetes

Canadian researcher, Magda Havas, has found that transient EMF’s (“dirty electricity”) in the kHz range on electrical wiring may be contributing to elevated blood sugar levels among electrically sensitive diabetics and pre-diabetics.

Ambient electromagnetic fields may affect human sperm quality

According to a Microwave News report, a Californian researcher has found that daily magnetic field exposures of 1.6mG or higher for at least two-and-a-half hours were associated with significantly poorer semen quality. Men who were exposed to over 1.6mG for over six hours a day were four times more likely to have substandard sperm.

Venice Resolution on Electromagnetic Safety

A group of leading researchers in the field of electromagnetic safety has confirmed the existence of non-thermal (non-heating) effects of electromagnetic fields (EMF’s) on living matter. They have called for urgent work to be done to discover the mechanisms of by which EMF’s cause these effects and for exposure standards to be lowered in accordance with the Precautionary Principle.

Aggravated symptom relapses after use of EMR protection products

Dr George Carlo, an expert in the study of health effects of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) exposure, has raised concerns regarding the high number of electro-hypersensitive people who are reporting serious symptom relapses after 9 to 18 months’ use of products which claim to be protective against EMR.

Electromagnetic fields from incubators may affect baby's heartbeat

Italian researchers have found that electromagnetic fields produced by incubator motors can reduce the normal heart rate variability in newborn babies.
